MEMS & Microfabrication

During the Smart Systems Integrated Solutions master's (Aalto University, University of South-Eastern Norway, and Budapest University of Technology and Economics) I worked hands-on in the cleanroom, designed MEMS devices in COMSOL and ANSYS, and characterized sensors from sub-nanometer surface roughness up to full radiometric calibration of a thermal camera.

Projects

Skills

Microfabrication
Photolithography, ICP-RIE dry etching, KOH wet etching, thermal oxidation, thermal evaporation (PVD), O2 plasma ashing, cleanroom practice
Evidence: Full process flow on silicon wafers in the USN cleanroom.
Characterization & metrology
Blackbody radiometric calibration, NETD and responsivity analysis, stylus profilometry, ellipsometry, white-light interferometry, optical microscopy, SEM/EDS analysis
Evidence: Thermal-camera thesis at IDEAS; Wyko NT9100 metrology of RF MEMS; pressure-sensor teardown.
Simulation & CAD
COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS Workbench and Twin Builder (ROM export), Cadence, LTspice
Evidence: Piezoelectric microphone redesign; accelerometer coupled FEM with reduced-order model; TSV stress analysis.
